Apart from the extensions that we include for our goals, there are also some extensions that we should install into our site. I consider these extensions essential because they provide such strong benefits to a site administrator that leaving them out puts us at a disadvantage, or makes our work harder than it should be.

This list is not complete, nor are these the only extensions that could be considered essential, but they are general enough that most people will want most or all of them on their sites.
